SHBCC News Update – February 2026

Another quiet month mainly because of the weather where any work on the grounds was impossible.

Junior and senior nets have been going really well with good attendance at both. It’s been especially pleasing to see so many juniors at senior nets. It is also interesting on the recruitment front that the club have had an influx of Regional and County juniors. This bodes well for U13, U15 and senior weekend sides, and of course the future.

The one bit of really good news is that Matthias is returning. He made a huge impression with the second team last season scoring over 1000 runs and is an all-round nice guy. We hope this can be replicated this year. On the downside it looks as though Isaac Gianinni, who has played for the club at all levels since he was six years old, will now ply his skills in the Cheshire league where he is based with work.

It is now official that SHBCC have a ladies softball team, currently training on a Tuesday night 7.30 – 8.30pm. Anyone interested should contact Caroline Bell – 07743 946493.
