News Round Up – March 2022

The Club AGM has been held with the team captains now being announced.
1st XI – Adam Fisher
2nd XI – Jack Hugill
3rd XI – Josh Moate
4th XI – Neil Cowton

The third and fourth team have been set up to try and accommodate as many “promising juniors” (13 – 16-year-olds) as is possible to give them experience and at the same time keep some balance in the sides. The fourth team in particular could have a very young average age!

Now that covid restrictions have been lifted the league has reinstated the traditional cricket tea which gives us a huge problem in that for many reasons we don’t have anyone to do them. If there are any ladies or men in the local area who would be prepared to do it at both the Bridge and Castle grounds (26 teas at each) please contact Vince (via contact number or email on website). It would be for 22 weeks starting third week in April.

Also, on our re-vamped website there is a page outlining some sponsorship opportunities, if any local businesses could help, again please make contact. Details can be found here..

The winter nets continue for a couple more weeks before we head outside (weather permitting).

We are looking very strong on the junior front with lots of enthusiasm being shown at nets.

The grounds are in excellent condition and can only get better as the season progresses.
