End of an era…
The SHBCC AGM, held on 30th November, saw both Mick Oldfield and Colin Mole step down from there roles as Chair and Vice Chair after 30 years of outstanding service.
Under there guidance the club has gone from strength to strength and the work they have done has been truly astounding. This is recognised and appreciated by all the players and members, past and present and across cricket in North Yorkshire and beyond.
As Mick observed, there have been many highlights over this time but the two that stood out were winning the National Village Cup at Lords in 2005 and the White Rose Trophy at Headingley in 2019.
Though they have handed over the reins, Mick will still be out and about leading the work to prepare the grounds and pitches, keeping them in excellent condition and Colin will continue to help out with pitch prep on Fridays and match days and will remain part of the management committee.
Thank you Mick and Colin!!
Two true gents
Thank you such wonderful, welcoming gentlemen. My son learned a lot from so many at the Bridge from 2016 until 2021 – what a club and these two exemplars of the team behind the teams.
