SHBCC Rockets
Rockets Cricket, for ages of 4-8 years old, provides a fantastic entry point for children who wish to gain their first experience of cricket.

While learning new skills, the program is focused on fun, making new friends and having a great time.

The children will learn the fundamentals of all cricket skills, including hitting moving balls, bowling overarm, catching and fielding moving balls. Team games will also teach them aspects of team work and much more.

Thanks to the excellent feedback of so many parents and carers, and the continued success of our programme at the club, we are delighted to announce that we will be increasing our offer this summer to approximately 17 weeks. We will run from Friday 17th April through to Friday 31st July with no break unless due to unforeseen circumstances.

The cost of the Rockets programme will remain the same as last year. A child between 4 and 8 will be £100 for the season with a discount for siblings to be applied.

We are also delighted to announce that Danny Kiernan will be managing the U9s Development team for matches this season. This will be a priority team for 6 and 7-year-olds who are showing a desire to play matches in full. This will support the transition to full U9s cricket over the next few years. Further details on this will follow.

Club branded kit is optional at this time but is available to purchase. Please get in touch if this is of interest.

Timings that each age group will now occupy every Friday this summer are:

  • U6s: 6.00pm - 6.45pm
  • U8s: 6.00pm -7.00pm
  • U9s: 6.00pm-7.30pm approx.

Thank you for your continued support. If there are any questions please contact Danny Kiernan at dkiernan24@googlemail.com or message in the WhatsApp group. We anticipate being able to cater for all interested children, but in the unlikely event of an overflow of numbers, places will be offered on a first come first served basis after the sign up goes live.

SHBCC Girls Cricket

At SHBCC, for girls aged 7-11 years old, we will be running a Dynamos programme on Thursday and Friday evenings.

To sign up for the Dynamos, please follow the links below:

Sheriff Hutton Bridge Dynamos - Thursdays

Sheriff Hutton Bridge Dynamos - Fridays

Each week there will be a focus on a different cricket skill to build their confidence and ability as we aim to grow your child's love of the game and give them the opportunity to socialise and make friends in a safe environment.

In addition to our girls’ Dynamos cricket, we now have a number of girls playing hardball cricket. The girls train in our junior teams and play league matches with the boys in mixed teams - U11/U13. The girls will also have the opportunity to play in some girl only hardball matches,  developing their skills and looking to establish a SHBCC Girls team.

If you have any questions, please contact our Heads of Women & Girls Cricket, Caroline Bell at shbjuniorsecretary@gmail.com.
