Jordan Grose and Freddie Collins have returned from their time in Melbourne with Fountain Gate CC and Dandenong West CC. They played a mixture of Turf 4,2 and 1 cricket. Jordan picked up 10 wickets from limited opportunity with the ball at average of 19.2 and scored 171 runs with a best score of 71. Freddie picked up 13 wickets at 15.6 and scored 110 runs with a best of 53. Both have enjoyed the experience and will be better SHB players for it.

Russ Robinson is firmly on the road to recovery after surgery on his bowling shoulder late in 2016 season and assures the club that from what he can see in the mirror, he believes he’ll be in good shape come the start of the 2017 season. He has taken on the role as 1st team vice captain. Paul Scaling will captain the 2nd team with Jack Hugill as vice captain. David Bradshaw is struggling with a long term injury and has relinquished his role as captain for 2017 and is thanked, along with Paul Oldfield, for hard work and success in 2016.

The senior squads are once again looking strong with many competing for places in the first team for 2017. The average age of senior squad will be in the mid 20s which is a superb place for the club to have got to and both Adam and Paul believe it will start to reap rewards in the coming seasons.
