Junior Presentation Night

shbcc-junior-presentation-8What a great night, great atmosphere, probably the best yet! Over 70 Bridge juniors & their families attended this years Junior Presentation Night on Friday 9th September. This was the first function of a busy, but very enjoyable weekend for the club. On the following day the 1st X1 played Dunnington in the final fixture of the season & on Sunday the club hosted the Final of the Yorkshire Champions Cup, The Black Sheep Trophy.

The Presentation Night began with the clubs annual auction hosted by Chris Harrison & Barrie Speake. Keen bidding from everyone raised £465 for the club. Thanks to everyone who contributed. After the break was the main event of the evening, the presentation of the Junior trophies. My thanks to our guests Eddie Barnes, England U19 team member, Yorkshire 2nd & Academy player, & Stephen Croft our excellent 1st team leg spinner who presented the trophies to all the winners. They also handled the tricky Question & Answer session well at the end of the presentation. Well done to both of you.

The winners on the night were:

U9 Best Player – Sam Giannini

U9 Best Newcomer – Finley Humphreys

U11 Best Player – Harry Green

U11 Most improved – Matthew Saxby

U13 Best Player – Ryan Chapman

U13 Most Improved – Jacob Kirby

U15 Best Player – Thomas Bews

U15 Most Improved – Issac Giannini

Best individual performance: Harry Green for his 4 wickets in one over. Harry was presented with the match ball mounted on a plinth.

Phil Fisher Trophy – Jack Rushworth

Once again a wonderful fun evening which I am sure was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to everyone who contributed.
